The Clarity Project The Clarity project
The Team

The Clarity Project was cofounded by Shane Rogers, Rachel Lichte, and Jesse Finfrock.

Shane

Shane grew up in the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area, and attended university at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Following graduation and broad world travel, he began work as an Engineer designing medical devices, where he gained experience setting up and managing complex supply chains. Shane applies a do-no-harm ethic to everything in life, and his energy and problem-solving spirit are unbounded. The Clarity Project's architect, when he's not looking at stones or partnering with new non-profits, Shane will be outdoors exploring California’s beautiful beaches in the summer and snowy mountains in the winter.

Rachel

Rachel spent her childhood in the San Francisco Bay Area. After graduating from UC Santa Cruz with degrees in anthropology, film and digital media, she worked to educate the public about sustainable seafood, learning first-hand of the power that consumers have to change how companies behave. Soon after, her desire to study rural community development led her to India to work for an indigenous advocacy organization. Rachel now works in San Francisco for the sustainable branding innovation shop, BBMG. When she's not developing marketing strategies or sketching ring designs, she enjoys yoga, backpacking, baking new recipes and riding her bike.

Jesse

Jesse is a native son of the Santa Cruz Mountains. While studying anthropology at UC Santa Cruz, his research took him around the world from the Australian wilderness to the rural villages of Eastern Europe. Following graduation, Jesse has been very active in community development, environmental justice, and investigative journalism, including working as a researcher for a small non-profit in Southern India, the certification department at TransFair, the international program at EarthJustice, and Mother Jones magazine. When Jesse's not discussing standards with potential suppliers or writing articles on industry developments, you might find him at your local traditional music session or outdoors in the backcountry.
